MY WEEKEND

I love to read. The last time I read a book for enjoyment, well… it has just been way too long. I really need to make it a point to do this more often. It is so relaxing to me, and it helps me fall asleep more quickly if I pick up a book and read a chapter or two to help me fall asleep.

I love to read because I can get lost in a story that isn’t my own. I pretty much only read romance novels, just so I can get lost in someone else’s story. The tragedy, the love, and just the whole story playing out until the happily ever after (most of the time) is what I love about it all.

I sat and read two books this past weekend and spent almost my entire weekend snuggled up on the couch reading. I felt all of the emotions and loved the “me” time. It is the best to just take time for yourself and be alone. You can learn so much about yourself when you only have you to entertain. There is something so relaxing and calming to my mind doing absolutely nothing. Now it is not always like that for me. If I have other things to get done… forget it. I am anxiety ridden and can’t focus on relaxing while I do nothing. Sounds ridiculous, but it is SO true. Luckily, I had fully cleaned my house, did my laundry, finished my school work, checked off my to-do list, and was able to FULLY relax and get the most out of my nothing weekend. It was amazing.

I napped, I read, I watched some movies, and I spent time journaling. It was gross weather, so I decided to take the weekend off from exercising to just relax. It was so necessary and such a great and calm weekend! I brunched with some friends, and then I was a total hermit the rest of the weekend.

It is so important to take time for yourself to recharge.
